Zombies vs. unicorns by a few of my favorite authors

  Zombies vs. Unicorns is an anthology of stories focusing on well, zombies and unicorns. This book was written by a few of my favorite authors like Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson, and a few others. Though it was thought up by the brilliant Holly Black.
  In this awesome book these authors are going head to head to answer this life long unanswered question, which are better? Zombies or Unicorns? They let you decide for yourself.
  These authors are doing what they do best, writing amazing stories. They wrote either a short story about Zombies or Unicorns depending on what side they took. 
Since its a range of authors with diffrent styles of writing this book  will make you feel diffrent things depending on the story. Some will make you laugh, some will make you wanna cry because its just so moving, and others... well...  they'll make you wanna hit someone out of pure fustration if your favorite author isn't taking your side. I'm going to be completly honest.
  This book made me rethink my life a bit. Its completly changed how I feel about both Zombies and Unicorns. I have found a new found respect of zombies and I'm slightly terrified of  Unicorns. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

WARNING. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ 'THE CITY OF BONES' BY CASSANDRA CLARE. I'M SERIOUS!                                      

    So some crazy stuff is going down in this book, some unbelievable stuff. Finding her mother in a magical comatose state, Clary Fray is now faced with trying to not only find a way to wake her mother, but now knowing she's a Shadow Hunter, she's trying to help find the second mortal instrument. If that wasn't enough, she also finds out that her real father is actually the most evil man alive, the one and only, Valentine Morgenstern. (who by the way is supposed to be dead. Just throwing it out there.) On top of that, Mr. Heart stopper himself, aka Jace Wayland, (or should I say Morgenstern) is also her brother. 

    Then, just to really make your head spin, Simon is in love with her. Whoo! That was a lot and there's still more. Poor Jace is being accused of helping his father escape. You know, the evil one who tried to break the peace between the Down Worlders and Nephilim by trying to slaughter everyone. Then faked his death and went into hiding the past fifteen years raising Jace till he was ten, fooling everyone in believing that Jace was Michael Wayland's son, just to fake his death again. Then gathered his followers and stole the mortal cup and now going after the sword. Yeah, you know the one. The question is, will he? Valentine wasn't the most nurturing father, but he was the only one Jace ever knew. Now that his father is back from the dead and he's being accused of horrible crimes, where will his loyalty lie? With his long lost dad who seems to be there for him? Or his adopted family who can't help but feel weary around him? 

     On top of it, trying to sort out his feelings for his knew founded sister. It’s a topsy turvy world right now for our heroes. But 'the City of Ashes' makes an amazing sequel to 'the City of Bones'. Cassandra Clare can do no wrong. If you read this post without reading the first book and now your upset because i spilled everything when I warned you not to. All well. I mean come on, it was in big capital letters. You should of listened and you can blame no one but yourself. Well guys, read the book and tell me what you think. I assure you, if you liked 'the City of Bones' you're going to love 'the City of Ashes".

The City of Bones

     Have you ever fallen in love with a series and you know it's true because after years of reading you're now patiently waiting the sixth and (excuse me while I wipe away my tears.)

Final book. My all time favorite series is...the 

Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare! Yahhh!!!   I've read each book about 3 to 6 times if not more. Now some might ask," Isn't that a bit much?" My response, "Absolutely." But I couldn't care less. Like William Gerhardie said," If a book is worth reading at all, it is worth reading more than once."      

     The first book is called 'The City of Bones'. Fifteen-year-old Clary Fray's life changes when she witnesses three teenagers murder someone but soon realizes she's the only one that can see them. They call themselves Shadow Hunters and the thing she witnessed them killing wasn't even human. After meeting these mysterious Shadow Hunters (aka Nephilim), Clary's mother is kidnapped. Trying to rescue her mother, she teams up with these Nephilim, all the while trying to figure out why she can suddenly see creatures ranging from demons to pixies. She comes to find on this search for her mother that her whole life has been a lie.

      I love this book, the reason being… its magical. The way Cassandra Clare writes, it feels like everything that’s written is real. Like there really is a race of Shadow Hunters sworn to rid the world of demons and naughty down worlders. 'City of Bones' draws you in and never lets go. The characters come alive and you can relate to them. There's Simon Lewis who's Clary's best friend and as nerdy and mundane as you can get. There's Clary herself who's shy at times but rises to meet whatever or whoever gets in her way. You cannot forget Alec and Isabel Lightwood, brother and sister and polar opposites but have each other’s backs while protecting the ones they love. Then there's Jace Wayland who every girl can't help but fall for. (There are no words to describe this guy.) 

     This book is so detailed, you feel like you're right there fighting demons or laughing at something Jace or Simon said. I've always wanted to live in a world where all the stories were true and Cassandra Clare makes it possible. She is and will always be my favorite author. I recommend this series because it has something for everyone. Please read it and I would love to hear what you think. I'll have something up for 'The City of Ashes' very soon.
